Why Atheists Can’t Write Good Stories, Short Version

I have previously written at some length about why atheists can’t write good stories. If you want to read a more in-depth treatment, there’s Why Moderns Always Modernize Stories and Why Do Moderns Write Morally Ambiguous Good Guys? However, for convenience, I’ve come up with a very succinct version:

Unless an atheist pretends that God exists in his story, his story is set in Hell. There are no good stories in Hell.

Oh, yes. The revisions to Madeleine and the Mists were nowhere near as extensive as those to A Diabolical Bargain — partly because Bargain pretended to be a novelette when I started.

wow, that’s quite a nice little lie there, dear. So, exactly where is your god now? And do show evidence. We have most, if not all, theists claiming that their god is the “creator”, so unless you can show that your god is the only one and no other gods exist, you are a failure there. And we have most, if not all, theists claiming that only their version of their god has the “right” answer when it comes to morals, good and evil etc. So unless you can show your god to be right, you got nothing more than your fellow theists whom you claim are wrong.

There being no evidence for heaven or hell and Christians unable to agree on what either really are, no need to think that any of you are right and no reason to think you are Christians at all since you can’t do what your bible promises that any baptized believer in christ as savior can do.

It’s a shame that so many Christians are thoughtless and so pathetically sadistic. No one needs you or your god at all and that’s what makes you upset.

    1. Bingo! Wow, all of those atheist buzzwords in one post. I’m impressed. Here, let me try: stop trying to scare me with your word salad I think for myself it’s amazing how you’re the poster child for Dunning Kruger cognitive dissonance bronze age goat hurdurrs!

      1. nice comment Chris. Unable to rebut what I’ve said and pathetic attempts to be insulting.

I do enjoy seeing a Christian being so inept. I guess god does need some HR help with getting competent apologists.

It’s a shame that Christians can’t get their act together and come up with one “truth”.

Thanks for showing that you do have problems spelling. It’s herders, dear, not “hurdurrs”. 🙂

As for thinking for yourself, no evidence for that either. Tsk.

          1. And still unable to rebut what I said. No surprise.

Where is this god of yours, Chris? Since you can’t show it exists, then evidently no one can write a “good story” since no one can show that this god exists, including every theist.

It’s even funnier that your nonsense ends up trying to claim that Dante’s “Inferno” isn’t a good story. alas for you, it’s considered a classic. Few care about its sequel, Paradiso.

always good to see how a Christian’s thoughtless attempts to lie about atheists ends up biting him in the ass.

            1. Aww, club. Is this your first attempt at an argument? It’s so cute watching you try this strange new thing out. Points off for factual inaccuracy (the work is actually called The Divine Comedy, and is one workarranged in 3 sections, inferno, purgatorio, and paradiso), but still, this was at least an attempt at an argument from counter-example! It fails because the story in the Divine Comedy is Dante being shown a vision of hell, purgatory, and heaven, not Dante actually being damned, but still, at least you gave it the old college try!

Perhaps you could next spend some time trying to understand what it means to be in hell—that is, that it means to be separated (completely, in one’s will) from God, and not to be in some physical location. It’s a big ask, I know. But you tried to come up with an argument, so you might be ready for some elementary thinking. You never know till you try!

And even if a few moments of thought is too intimidating, and you don’t try it, at least you tried to put forward an argument. You can always be proud of yourself that you gave that a try.

              1. Still unable to rebut anything I’ve said.

Yes, dear, I know it is The Divine Comedy and that doesn’t make what I said wrong. But nice try, Chris. this is what I said and poor Chris has reading comprehension issues: “It’s even funnier that your nonsense ends up trying to claim that Dante’s “Inferno” isn’t a good story. alas for you, it’s considered a classic. Few care about its sequel, Paradiso.”

That Christians can’t agree on what heaven and hell are shows that there is no reason to believe any of you, Chris. Some claim it is just “seperation” from this god, some claim it is the literal nonsense from Dante, some claim that it is only temporary, some claim it is eternal.

Why do Christians disagree, Chris? And do show how you can support that your version is the only right one.

As for understanding what it means to be ‘seperated’ from this god, we already know, since there is no evidence for this god on this world. No prayers answered, Christians lying since they have nothing to support their claims and know that their god won’t punish them for what they do, etc. Christians making up apologetics for their god that does nothing at all.

Not hard to imagine that at all. 😀

Where is this god of yours, Chris? Since you can’t show it exists, then evidently no one can write a “good story” since no one can show that this god exists, including every theist.

                1. It is said that happy families are all alike, but unhappy families are all unhappy in different ways. Yet you internet atheists are all miserable in precisely the same way, almost to the point of plausibly being one guy with hundreds of sock puppet accounts. Not that you’d admit it, so there’s no point in asking, though I am curious whether this groupthink stems from a lack of brains or from actually being sockpuppets.

Anyway, thank you for doing your part to show how atheism is held primarily by uneducated people full of anger and without sense. It may do good to young people who pass by, much like those pictures of meth addicts without teeth.

                2. and again still unable to rebut anything I said. Now we have you trying to lie to yourself about how “miserable” atheists are. Funny how we aren’t any more “miserable” than theists, especially Christians.

Poor Chris, you have to again resort to bearing false witness about others, ignoring your god when convenient. Please do show that all atheists are “one guy with hundreds of sock puppet accounts”. You have to lie to yourself about that since you can’t dare think that many people would dare disagree with Chris. 🙂

you of course forget that I could say the same about Christians, that there is only one and golly, such the “groupthink” 😀 Of course, that would be wrong since I couldn’t support that claim.

So, do show atheists to be “primarily uneducated”, Chris. You make the claim, now support it. Or is it that you can’t and again are just caught in one more lie?

Where is your god, Chris? Surely you can point to it, right? How is this world different from a world without this god since this god does nothing right now?

As for The Divine Comedy, it is not arranged in chapters. It’s a narrative poem in three parts or cantiche, https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cantica considered seperate poems and they are sequential aka sequels,

                1. Hint: they are not two separately published works. They are sections of one work, the Divine Comedy. Dante did not write the one, publish it, then wait a while and publish the other.

To make this more familiar, in a book, “Chapter 2” is not a “sequel” to “Chapter 1”.

                  Like

                2. hint: sequels don’t need to be published seperately. I do love how Christians ignore definitions when they don’t agree with their nonsense. The cantos within the cantica are analogous to chapters.

                3. I appreciate that you have to double down on the stupid. It’s the internet atheist code. Your dedication to being wrong about everything, no matter how secular and unrelated to the central debate, is impressive.

                4. One of my favorite things about internet atheists is their habit of declaring victory and patting themselves on the back. Do you ever make yourself medals to pin on your chest, after you’ve declared yourself the winner in whatever contest you think you’re taking part, Club? Do you have shelves covered in trophies you’ve bought yourself after making baseless and unnecessarily factually incorrect assertions so wild that no one takes you seriously, and that will do as a victory condition? Do you dance after posting your comments like the characters in a final fantasy video game?

                5. now, where did I declare victory, Chris? Tsk. Still no evidence for your claim, still no evidence for this pathetic declaration about just how great Christians are: “Unless an atheist pretends that God exists in his story, his story is set in Hell. There are no good stories in Hell.”

still nothing to show that this world has god in it or how one could tell if it didn’t. We have Christians repeatedly insisting that this god wants free will so much that it doesn’t interfere down here. So, we already have a world with no god. And we have quite nice stories told by people of every faith and none.
